Carving workshops and parties

Carving parties cater for up to 8 people at any one time, aged 4 to 104! All you need is a sturdy table with no 'lip' so that bench-hooks can be positioned securely, and to dress for mess. I will bring everything else and even tidy up afterwards! I charge £30 per hour, + £5 per stone tile used, hall hire and fuel expenses where necessary.

Workshops in Schools: There is usually enough time to work with up to 3 groups of 8 children during the school day. Students produce a carving of their own design on a 'tile' of Bathstone which is a relatively soft stone. Designs could relate to a topic the students are currently studying, or be inspired by something else entirely! Workshops cost £200 per day, plus £5 for every stone tile used (discounts for > 10 tiles) and fuel expenses if the venue is over 5 miles from Dorchester.
I am a trained infant teacher (PGCE Durham, 1989) and have taught all ages and abilities in Britain and abroad. I lectured on the Foundation Degree in Architectural Stonework and Conservation at Weymouth College until Summer 2012. I have worked with Dorset Artsreach, at the 'Anonymous' Festival, and in many local schools. I now work as an ESOL tutor for Dorset Skills and Learning. I have a DBS certificate and Public Liability Insurance cover up to £5 million.

NB: 'RFHandmade' was formerly 'Abbotsbury stonework'.
